As we sign off on 2018, and the many changes we’ve gone through as individuals and as a company, we are certainly looking forward to the New Year with big plans and high expectations.
Much the same as you are, right?
January is a very special month at Centerpointe, as we salute the life of our friend and founder, Bill Harris, who would be celebrating his 69th birthday on January 16. To celebrate his life and many accomplishments...
....we’re rolling out special promotions, free gifts, and a powerful online event: “Bill Harris: Beyond Limits.”
Considered a true Renaissance man, Bill embodied the Renaissance tenent that humans are limitless in their capacity for development, and that people should embrace all knowledge and…
...develop their capacities as fully as possible.
As Marc Gilson, long-time friend, colleague, and collaborator of Bill’s, discusses in his essay below, “The End? Or a New Beginning?”, Bill saw endings as opportunities. In his relentless pursuit of knowledge, Bill literally reinvented himself from an angry, depressed, loner…
...to one of the greatest wisdom teachers of our time.
So please take a few minutes to read Marc’s powerful essay below, and mark your calendar now for our Salute to Bill Harris Online Party: Beyond Limits, Wednesday, January 16 at 7:00pm EST (4:00pm PST).
We’ll send you a link later this week (on January 11) as well as a few reminders.
Thank you for kicking off your New Year in the same spirit as all of us at Centerpointe…
...with big plans and high expectations.
P.S. One of the most powerful ways in the world to kick off your New Year (achieve your goals, gain confidence and creativity, and overcome obstacles)...
...is Holosync. Learn more in the “Check It Out” section below.
Seriously, this will change your life!
The End? Or a New Beginning?
by Marc Gilson
Centerpointe Director of Client Services
Many people don’t know this, but Centerpointe’s biggest and most successful personal growth program–The Holosync Solution Program™–went by a very different name when Bill Harris began offering it back in 1989. He originally named it: “‘The End’ Personal Growth Through Technology Program.”
Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, does it?
One of the first questions I had when I went to work for Bill was why in the heck did he call it “The End?” To me, it sounded kind of dire, especially for a program about personal growth. The End? How grim!
It turns out he borrowed it from a poem by T.S. Eliot called “Little Gidding.” The phrase is found in the fifth stanza of this long poem, and it reads:
What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from.
These words had a very personal meaning to Bill. As a young man, he struggled with depression and anger.
For a young Bill Harris, life back then was unhappy, frustrating, and disappointing. His search for solutions led him in dozens of directions. He tried anything and everything to improve his lot in life. Some methods produced marginal benefits…
...but most failed to have any real long-term impact.
Bill was a true explorer when it came to personal development, but that was due more to necessity than inquisitiveness. He wasn’t just interested in personal development as a hobby. Bill sought answers for problems he found intolerable. He was not content with a life of suffering and frustration.
Thoreau said that “most men live lives of quiet desperation.”
Bill was not satisfied with that. He had had enough desperation. He wanted something better, something more fulfilling and meaningful. Bill was driven to find answers to the problems that vexed him no matter what it cost him.
Fortunately for him (and us too) he was relentless in his search.
Of course we all know that his persistent search eventually led him to create the best tool for improving your life we know of: Holosync.
When Bill began his first experiments with Holosync, he soon realized that he had reached an ending of sorts: The End of his search for something that worked. The End of trying to find a method to truly and genuinely change his life for the better.
The End of a life of suffering, failure, and depression.
Bill had come to the end of his hunt for something that could truly change his life for the better, and–as Eliot pointed out– “the end is where we start from.” This resonated powerfully with Bill. For him, and subsequently hundreds of thousands of others, the changes he began to experience while he meditated with Holosync was not just an end, but a new beginning…
...a place from which he started again.
Another New Year is upon us. Some people like to spend this time reflecting on the past year and its ups and downs. But there’s always time to reminisce. What I’d like to ask is that you join me in some forward-thinking. What will the new year bring for you? What would you like it to bring?
What can you do now to make a strong New Start in 2019?
There is a way to discover the answer to this question. And it begins with an understanding of how our values, beliefs, thoughts, and actions create our reality. Once we understand the mechanics of our inner processes we can begin to make conscious choices about what we want our lives to be like.
Sometimes it’s hard to see the connections between our inner mechanics–much of which occur unconsciously–and the effects these mechanics have on our lives. After a lifetime of study, Bill came to understand that:
Our VALUES (what we believe is important) create our BELIEFS (about how the world works).
And our BELIEFS generate our THOUGHTS (ideas, judgements, and desires)...
THOUGHTS, in turn, create our FEELINGS (what we think things mean)...
And FEELINGS ultimately result in our ACTIONS (the steps we take, our behaviors).
Bill liked to remind us that this process, while largely unconscious, essentially creates the world within which each of us live and what every experience means to us. He put it this way:
“Somehow, even if you can’t see how you’re doing it, something you’re doing inside–but outside of your awareness–generates how you feel, how you act, which people and situations you attract (and are attracted to), and what you think things mean.”
Bill had an interesting term for the above statement. He called it “The Buy-In Statement,” and if you’ve read much of his work this is probably not the first time you’ve seen it. Bill was so adamant about the importance of this particular statement that he asked our Support Team to memorize it and would often quiz us to make sure we had it down!
Why is this “Buy-In Statement” so important? Simple: it’s the first step to making a New Beginning for yourself. In fact, unless you have really internalized this idea, pretty much everything you do to try to improve your life will probably fall short of your expectations.
But you don’t have to understand or memorize anything complicated about values, beliefs, etc. All you have to do is to acknowledge to yourself that…
...your life and your experience of it is largely a result of the ways in which you’re managing your values, beliefs, thoughts, and actions.
So does this mean that we are the source of absolutely everything that happens in our lives, whether good or bad?
Some would say yes. But Bill acknowledged that there are exceptions: sometimes experiences befall us in life that we really don’t have any control or influence over at all. Accidents, tragedies, and injustices happen in this world that we simply cannot control, consciously or otherwise.
But let’s remember that those experiences–even the ones that happen outside of our control–leave us with thoughts and feelings over which we DO have some control…
...if we want to exercise it.
Bill explained it like this: “I call it the “buy in” statement because until you’re able to buy-in to what it says, you won’t have what you need to take control of your life. It’s like the ticket you have to buy in order to get into the fair. This isn’t just a law about attraction. It entails responsibility and personal empowerment. Like it or not, you really are creating your own reality. That might not seem like good news if your reality is an unhappy one like mine was.
“But once you stop and think about it, it becomes obvious that it means you can also create a new and different reality. One that benefits you and helps you live successfully, peacefully, and happily. But, and there’s no getting around this:
“It all starts with an acknowledgement of your role in creating the experiences of life you’re having now.”
The year 2019 is here. What will be different for you about this year than the one before it? Not all of that is in your control, unfortunately. But much of it is. In fact, the more we acknowledge the power of Bill’s “Buy-In Statement” and put it to work for us, the more we’ll find ourselves able to…
...use our awareness, exercise choice, and find new opportunities for growth and healing.
As we say goodbye to 2018, let’s remember that to make an end is to make a new beginning. What kinds of experiences will 2019 hold for you? While some might feel that it all depends on the whims of fate, we now know the truth:
That what happens greatly depends on how much awareness we can muster and how well we accept our role in creating our own experiences of life. If you want a new beginning, it’s yours for the making. What will your new beginning be?

I started meditating with Holosync regularly after my mother-in-law and a close friend both died within days of each other right before Easter.
Since then I have not had a single panic attack. I have lost 50 lbs and am working toward achieving all of my goals. I feel better about myself, sleep better and am a better mother and a better friend. I am in control of my thoughts and no longer suffer from bouts of anxiety or depression.
I have recommended Holosync to everyone that I know, especially those who suffer from anxiety or depressive disorders.
The ease of using Holosync's technology is truly priceless. I've made attempts over the years at meditating. I would feel relaxed for a short time but easily agitated later on. Holosync is truly changing my life. I had been self conscious for years. I no longer worry about what others think of me.
Holosync will make a tremendous difference in the lives of anyone who uses it.
